Why Wide mirror

  • The Wide mirror can be found in many of the vehicles in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The reason is that the driving style in those countries is much more aggressive and the driver must see the surrounding of his vehicle before doing any movement on the road.

  • It provides an unprecedented view of the rear and  sides of your car. You no longer have to turn your head 180 degrees before changing lanes or reversing. A slight look to the side is sufficient.

  • You can plan your moves on the road. You can see in advance an approaching emergency car or a reckless driver and act appropriately.

  • If the vehicle in front of you suddenly stops, a glance in the mirror will let you know if you can make a sudden stop or if you need to divert the vehicle to the right or left.

 The Adjustment period

The wide mirror is different then the conventional mirror in the fact that objects look closer than they appear. The distance between vehicles looks a little bit shorter then in the conventional mirror. The same goes for the speed vehicles are driving, it looks a little bit slower. Still the human eye can adjust to the new view and estimate correctly the distance between vehicles and the speed they are driving. The benefit is a much wider view then the conventional mirror.

Based on your height, the height of the mirror and the height of your seat , there will be some blind spots. In some cases your head will cover some portion of the window of the back left door. Give your self a few weeks to get familiar with the view that this mirror provides.
